Common questions

How accurate is this calculator?

We use the official 2026 IRS Publication 15-T withholding tables and current state tax rates. Results are estimates — your actual withholding may vary slightly based on your W-4 elections and employer-specific deductions.

Why do I need a PDF pay stub?

Landlords, lenders, and government programs often require proof of income. A clean, professional pay stub is accepted in most cases where a paycheck statement is needed.

What's the difference between W-2 and 1099?

W-2 employees have taxes withheld by their employer. 1099 freelancers pay self-employment tax (15.3% for Social Security + Medicare) in addition to income taxes, and are responsible for making quarterly estimated payments to the IRS.

Is my information saved?

All calculations run entirely in your browser. We don't store, log, or transmit your data to any server. If you purchase a PDF, your pay stub details are temporarily saved in your browser's local storage only to restore your results after the Stripe payment — they are deleted immediately after and never leave your device.
